Cristina - Fraudulent Charges and Deception - Complaint

I attended this gym for less than a year last year. I was paying month by month, but I decided to buy a year contract and I paid in full.However, they continue to take money from my checking account for a couple of months until I noticed it on my bank statements. I went back and complained about it with the owner David and his accountant Cristina. They told me that they would refund the money every other week until the money was refund in full. What a suprise! They only refund twice out of 6 payments and when I went back to complain about it and said that I was going to take them to court, I got yelled by his accountant and I was told by her that if I wasn't a "nice lady" I would get nothing back from them. So, I decided to be a "nice lady" so that I could get my money back. After a couple of trips back there with nothing being taking cared for, I decided to go back there for the last time. So, after talking to te owner David,he told his accountant Cristina to get my bank card and refund what he owned to me! Surprise again! What a scam! According with my bank the money was never put back into my account.THEY NEVER REFUND THE MONEY EVEN THOUGH I was TOLD THEY DID!I got the conclusion that they disconnected the machine and in reality the money was never put back into my account. So, watch out for your money because you may be the next victim!

Dianne M - Fraudulent Charges/Poor Customer Service - Complaint

My husband and I joined this gym last May 2010. I was promised an instructional introduction to the equipment which never happened. I was used to that since most gyms never carry through with their promises. In the summer, my debit card was scammed and I had to replace it. My husband went in the next few days and gave the new card to the office. They wrote down the number for my husband's acct, but not mine. A few months later, they send me a bill with an additional $25 per month because their billing was returned. I guess the phones don't work there either. Meanwhile, I haven't gone there since the first month. I called to discuss the bill with Christina---the bookkeepper and offered to buy our my contract. She screamed at me, swore at me, and ultimately hung up on me. The manager, Chris, then called me back and made an appointment for me to come in and discuss---no solution---she is in charge and will not remove the "late fees". This is all because they did not do the billing correctly. Disgruntled members or ex-members-----we should be taking them to small claims court! Or at least reporting them to the BBB or Pompano Chamber.

Bianca - Unauthorized Charges - Complaint

I didn't have either a good or bad experience while working out there, however, when I tried to cancel after I moved too far away to attend a gym in Pompano, I was then told AFTER the fact that they were going to charge me for 3 more months and they have just today tried again to take the money out of my account. I don't remember this being in the contract and it's insane. Also, none of this is on the cancellation form. WATCH OUT and stay far away is my advice.

Toby - Fraudulent Charges - Complaint

just got a notice in mail that my card had been declined. i cancelled my membership over 2 years ago and these crooks have been debiting money every month. shame on me for not noticing, but same on them for being outright crooks. anyone out there with any recommendation. would love to team up and get them what they deserve

Lisa - Unauthorized Charges - Complaint

This facility should have their doors closed for good and their employees arrested for theft!! I've had several unauthorized charges made on my credit card which continue even after canceling my membership!! The people who work at this facility are uneducated, unprofessional, and outright rude!!! In my 20 yrs of belonging to reputable gyms, I've never seen anything like this place. I'm in the process of seeking legal advice and spare no expense in doing so just to prevent this happening to another victim in the future. Please be advised and do NOT give them a credit card of any sort unless you feel like being generous and giving your money away to these idiots!! Trust me, their "permanently muted TV's" are the least of their worries as of today.

i have been trying to cancel my membership for the last 6 months and no help. i filled out the cancellation form in october and i am still being charged. every time i call its the run around. no one there has any idea of what they are doing.

Beware of this facility, they have one purpose....to get your credit card number and run with it! As a fitness proffessional, I can assure you that there are many excellent health clubs in this neighborhood, each one with it's own specialty. Pompano Fitness is just an old dirty worn out hole in the wall, that has resorted to theft to stay in business! Once they get your credit card, you will be double/triple billed, and if you try to cancel, they have their own collection agency (even for their month to month contracts) that will harrass you for years, or until the BBB finally closes them! Just Run!
